About the Role:
Every Special Child LLC is looking for a passionate and dedicated High School Special Education Teacher to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs and goals
- Deliver specialized instruction in core academic subjects using evidence-based strategies and differentiated instruction techniques
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional approaches as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to ensure inclusive learning experiences
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary teams regarding student development
- Manage classroom behavior using positive behavioral intervention and support (PBIS) strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and school-wide initiatives
Requirements:
- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility)
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Experience working with high school students with disabilities, learning differences, or behavioral challenges
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, compliance, and implementation
- Familiarity with IDEA, 504 plans, and special education law
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Patient, empathetic, and student-centered approach to teaching
